15 members of the protest groups, Plane Stupid and Climate Rush, were arrested at Southend Airport (SEN) after they breached the perimeter and entered the manoeuvring area.
In a press release, the groups had said they were planning to put solar panels on the runway and do a dance routine dressed as pilots and cabin crew. The operators of SEN plan to extend its runway by 300m to allow larger passenger aircraft to be used.

She became aggressive, and assaulted a member of cabin crew and another pax. She was given an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
